Matt S. Anderson, DVM

Dr. Anderson obtained his DVM from Iowa State University in 1999. He is originally from Stuart, IA where he grew up on a diverse family farm with hogs, cattle and row crops. Dr. Anderson recently served as the 2013 American Association of Swine Veterinarians President. He currently resides with his family in Algona, IA.

Todd A. Distad, DVM

Dr. Distad graduated with his DVM in 2001 from the University of Minnesota. He was raised in Kasson, MN and previously served 13 years in the military. He is a 2009 graduate of the Executive Veterinary Program and specializes in boar stud consultation. He currently resides with his wife in Morris, MN.

Jason A. Kelly, DVM

Dr. Kelly graduated from Purdue University with his DVM in 2003 and was named Young Swine Veterinarian of the Year in 2007. He was raised on a swine and grain farm near Kokomo, IN. He currently resides with his family in Algona, IA.

Kurt K. Van Hulzen, DVM

Originally from Oskaloosa, IA, Dr. VanHulzen obtained his DVM from Iowa State University in 1992. He then went on to practice at the Animal Health Center in Sac City, IA before joining Suidae in 2006. Dr. VanHulzen is a 2000 graduate of the Executive Veterinary Program and currently resides with his family in Sac City, IA.

Amber M. Stricker, MS, DVM

Dr. Stricker grew up on a small swine and grain farm near St. Ansgar, IA. She is a 2008 graduate from Iowa State University where she also obtained a Masters degree in Veterinary Microbiology and was named Young Swine Veterinarian of the Year in 2013. She currently resides with her family in St. Ansgar, IA.

Trevor J. Schwartz, DVM

Originally from a small swine and cattle farm near Gilbert, IA. Dr. Schwartz obtained his DVM from Iowa State University in 2013. He then went on to practice at Monticello Veterinary Clinic, a mixed animal clinic before he joined Suidae in the spring of 2014. He currently resides with his wife and daughter  in Lake City, IA.

Ron Brodersen, DVM

Dr. Brodersen received his DVM from Iowa State University and is a graduate of the Executive Veterinary Program. He will serve as President of the American Association of Swine Veterinarians (AASV) in 2015 and was honored as the 2003 Swine Practitioner of the Year. He resides with his wife in Hartington, NE.

Ryan J. Strobel, DVM

Dr. Strobel grew up on a swine and grain farm near Pemberton, MN. He graduated with his DVM in 2017 from the University of Minnesota. He currently resides with his family in Algona, IA.

Jeff Kayser, Director of Management Services

Jeff has thirty-six years of swine operations experience, working with both Independent and Integrated pork producers. For the last 14 years, he has been employed as the Director of Management Services for Suidae Health and Production. At Suidae Jeff leads a team of 150 employees that perform human resources, production, animal movement coordination, animal care program implementation and information services activities for 30,000 sows and 200,000 grow finish pigs.

Brad Schimmer, Sow Farm Production Supervisor

Brad has twenty-two years of experience managing or supervising other individuals managing sow farms. For the last 10 years, he has been employed as a Sow Farm’s Production Supervisor for Suidae Health and Production. At Suidae Brad leads six client sow farms totaling 20,000 sows and 70 employees.

Nathan Nikolaisen, Sow Farm Production Supervisor

Nathan has twenty three years of experience managing sow farm enterprises and obtained a BS degree in Engineering from the University of Wisconsin in Green Bay. He started employment with Suidae Health and Production in January of 2017 and works as a Sow Farm and Gilt Multiplication Production Supervisor based out of our Morris, MN office region. At Suidae Nathan leads four client sow farms totaling 9,000 sows and their corresponding gilt grow finish systems.

Mac Luna, Bilingual Production Specialist

Mac was born in Honduras and is fluent in communicating in both Spanish and English. He has a veterinary degree from Centro de Estudios Universitarios in Monterrey, Mexico in 1990 and an Agronomy degree from John F. Kennedy Technical School of Agriculture in Atlantida, Honduras in 1984. Mac has 31 years of swine industry experience; teaching students for 5 years, as a Veterinary Assistant for 5 years and 21 years in farm operational management. For the last two years, he has been employed as a Bilingual Production Specialist for Suidae Health and Production. At Suidae Mac provides hands-on training to develop employee’s skills in swine operational management and improve communication and teamwork between individuals with different cultural backgrounds.

Bill Wurr, Grow Finish Production Supervisor

Bill has seventeen years of experience in managing grow finish farms. For the last two years, he has been employed as a Grow Finish Production Supervisor for Suidae Health and Production. At Suidae Bill provides leadership to grow finish management client’s nursery, wean to finish and feeder to finish farms totaling 100,000 pigs marketed annually.

Mick Ekren, Human Resource Manager

Mick attended Willmar College for Management training and received her HR Specialist Certification from Michigan State University. She has 13 years’ experience working in the Human Resources area of organizations. For the last two years, she has been employed as the Human Resource Manager for Suidae Health and Production. Mick provides Human Resources leadership and support to over 200 employees of Suidae and its Farm Management Clients throughout various locations in the Midwest.
