Suidae Innovative Research

The swine industry is ever changing and continues to evolve at a rapid rate. To allow for early adaptation, it is essential that we continue to discover break-through knowledge and technologies in order to drive informed changes on farm.  At Suidae Innovative Research, our purpose is to act as a catalyst that contributes to the forward propulsion of the swine industry by conducting forward thinking research in all aspects of pork production.

Our knowledgeable Suidae Innovative Research team has the capacity to conduct trials of all sizes with every trial customized and uniquely tailored to your specific vision and objective.  We serve all allied partners as independent contractors, performing the entire scope of research trials from commercial field trials utilizing commercial sow farms and finishing barns to more robust research trials utilizing our newly constructed state-of-the art Suidae Innovation Station.

Commercial Field Research

Our trusted partnership with clients allows us the opportunity to offer well equipped and complete field trials in commercial settings using traditional commercial sow farms and finishing barns. Utilizing the individual animal tracking system, LeeO, we are able to measure and follow pigs throughout an intended time frame to capture individual data and weights. Conducting research in a herd’s natural environment allows us the ability to analyze challenges specific to individual herds or pig flows in order to provide specific solutions and science-based decisions based on data generated from a research setting.

Suidae Innovation Station

Suidae Innovation station is a state-of-the-art research facility that is owned, managed, and staffed by Suidae.  Constructed in 2023, this 2400 head, 4 room, 192 pen facility was built with flexibility in mind and can be easily adjusted from 12 head pens to 24 head pens.  Equipped with technology such as the Big Dutchman System which allows for multiple different feeds to each pen in addition to daily feed data, 4 waterline options per pen, and the capability of positive pressure filtration when needed, this facility allows for comprehensive, full-scale research trials of various research designs that can be customized and tailored to any need.

Our highly trained Suidae Innovative Research team has extensive experience in every aspect of research trials.  From design, precise data collection, to execution and analysis of each trial, our team strives to provide the highest level of quality data and transparency.

Compared to field research trials, Suidae Innovation Station is not limited to a single source of pigs.  This allows us to study questions or challenges over multiple populations of animals.  We partner with clients to source pigs that best address the questions or goals for each study.  We find by doing this, we are led to better results to share with the swine industry and more accurate data-driven solutions.
